Synopsis*SCAPE’s CONCERT SERIES Presents: COPELAND ‘LIVE’, the Final Lap Asian Tour 5th May, Wednesday, 8.00pm *SCAPE’s The WAREHOUSE
*SCAPE’s CONCERT SERIES celebrates the crème de la creme of established local, regional and international music talent in a monthly showcase presented by *SCAPE.
As part of the lead up to *SCAPE’s official launch programme in June 2010, *SCAPE’s Concert Series is proud to present COPELAND on their Final Lap Asian Tour this May.
Copeland has had a fruitful run since forming in 2000. The Lakeland, Florida indie alternative band released their label debut Beneath Medicine Tree via The Militia Group in 2003, followed by In Motion in 2005. In 2006, they signed with Columbia Records to release Eat, Sleep, Repeat and an album of B-sides and rarities, 2007’s Dressed Up & In Line. The band then released You Are My Sunshine in 2008 and The Grey Man EP in 2009, both on Tooth and Nail Records, before announcing their farewell tour at the end of 2009.
“Doing a final headline tour was a priority for all of us,” says guitarist Bryan Laurenson. “We didn't want to end our journey without the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to all of our fans in person. We're really excited to get back to some of our favorite places in the world and I think it's going to be a fun and somewhat emotional experience.”
Copeland will present a retrospective set featuring songs from every album, calling back to the days when the songs were originally conceived. Playing each night like it is in fact their last show, the band will be sure to bring everything they’ve got to each performance.
